The 2007 Catalyst 116 Hyperlite wakeskate offers more durability then other wakeskates. It offers great pop off of the wake along with the ease of being able to perform surface 180s and 360s.

Also the grip tape and EVA foam combination make this wakeskate have amazing grip. It is well worth the cost if you have had other wakeskates break.

The only gripe I could have so far is that the board won't fit in a conventional wakeboard rack because of its concave shape.

I personally feel that the size and shape is always going to be a personal preference but there are certain aspects of a wakeskate that can cater to your wakeskating style and the way you want to ride.

The shape of the edges can also help in preventing the wakeskate from catching a lip on the water when performing wake grinds or surface 180s etc.

There can also be some merit to the buoyancy of the material that you are using but this can also greatly be affected by the boards displacement in the water as well as the speed at which you are wakeskating.

Just like many wakeskates offering concave edges a more heavy board can enable you to perform easier flip tricks it can have less pop of the wake. I think the most important thing to consider what you want from a wakeskate initially and then with practice and your unique style the ability to maneuver the board will come with familiarity.

The 2007 Catalyst 2.0 107 Hyperlite wakeskate is a very durable board. After riding wood wakeskates it did take a while to adjust to was the wakeskates wide profile.

However the thing about this wakeskate that I like most, is its weight. You can create a decent amount of pop when jumping wake 2 wake and this wakeskate offers solid landings.

Because of the weight it takes slightly more effort to shove but has a really solid feel. It is my everyday wakeskate on sliders. It is basically an all around solid wakeskate. The edge holds well when tracking and slides well for flat surface tricks.
