Skyla Obrien Wakeboard

With the help of O’Brien;s unbelievable woman rider Dallas Friday, Obrien is proud to say the Skyla is their first woman’s board to be designed by and for women in mind. This board is for the serious female rider looking to push her abilities and skills to the maximum. On the bottom on the board you will find the same subtle chevron design as seen on the Natural, allowing the board to rider higher and faster for an abrupt 3-stage rocker board. Also integrated into the bottom is the new V-spine for soft landings.

Vixen Obrien Wakeboard

This wakeboard was made to be a very easy deck to ride. Top contours provide less swing weight making the wakeboard that responds much quicker in edge to edge carves and spinning. The rails are cupped for incredible hold while on edge and the four molded in fins make for solid landings, and a very stable and forgiving ride

O’Briens R&D department relentlessly dedicated all their spare time designing this new shape. They combined the best composite technologies and a subtle chevron design with a progressive 3-stage rocker for the ultimate boost off the wake. Why you ask? All so that you can fine tune your style and stand out in your crew. Nick Ennen destroys it on the O’Brien Coda.

DELTA BOTTOM: Chevron pattern at tips reduces drag on the water, makes the board release more cleanly.
V-SPINE: The Cartel has a small center spine, perfectly sized to smooth out the landings without sacrificing the board’s performance.
VARIABLE BEVELED EDGES: Soft in the middle for smooth turns, sharpen towards the tip for incredible edge hold.
FULL LENGTH STEP DOWN RAIL: Low volume rail lets you sink the edge easily for superior line tension.

Natural Obrien Wakeboards
Information:
“After the debut season on the market, the Natural has already become one of the most innovative decks on the market. The legacy it has created only continues for 2008.” When designing this deck, O’Brien’s engineers sat down and worked the details out with Daniel Watkins. He wanted the wakeboard to have similar features to his last wakeboard, the Player. So O’Brien pushed the limits with the already successful Player to create the Natural. For starters the molded fins were narrowed and/ or shortened to create less drag and let this deck build as much speed as possible. However this did not quite create the speed Daniel was looking for, so the chevron notches were introduced to the bottom of the wakeboard. Used in competition race boats for years, the chevrons help break water off the tail of the wakeboard making it ride higher and faster in the water. This gives you a 3-stage rocker wakeboard that adds many characteristics of a continuous rocker wakeboard, making it nearly compatible with any style of rider. The rails were fully rolled all the way up through and to the cupped rails, making the deck roll onto edge smoother for a more natural feeling. It also made the wakeboard more durable to sliders and kickers. Daniel loved the ultra smooth landings of the Player so we kept the same double concave in the middle of the wakeboard.
